PT health Life – Summer’s arrival means rising temperatures. UV rays from the sun work strongly, sebaceous glands increase in activity and many other factors negatively affect the skin. So what should you do to take care of your skin in the summer?

1. Wash your face twice a day with facial cleanser

Washing your face will help remove sweat and oil, while also cleaning dirt and dead cells on the skin’s surface. Moreover, washing your face brings a cool, alert feeling, especially on hot summer days. However, washing too much and continuously will dry out your skin, thereby making it more oily. Therefore, you should only wash your face a maximum of 2 times a day with facial cleanser.

You should choose facial cleanser products that are benign, gentle, and safe for the skin. If you feel tight or tight after washing your face, you should find another product to avoid drying out your skin .

2. Increase exfoliation frequency

Dead cells on the skin’s surface that are not removed will clog pores. The skin will therefore become dull, rough and acne-prone. Therefore, exfoliation is the key to making skin brighter and smoother. Just increase the frequency of exfoliation at home to twice a week to remove accumulated dead cells, helping your skin “breathe” more easily.

In addition to the face, don’t forget other skin areas on the body. Start the habit of exfoliating your body, especially in the summer when this becomes even more necessary. A small note, when exfoliating, you should massage gently, avoid rubbing too hard which can damage the skin protective barrier.

3. Never forget sunscreen

Sunscreen is considered an “inseparable item” for the skin, especially in the summer. Regular use of sunscreen not only helps protect the skin from harmful exposure to UV rays, but also slows aging .

Research has shown that people under 55 who use sunscreen are up to 24% less likely to develop signs of aging than those who don’t. Besides, sunscreen is the simplest measure to help reduce the risk of skin cancer , prevent sunburn and damage caused by the effects of sunlight.

4. Use a moisturizer suitable for summer

Skin will tend to secrete more oil in the summer. Therefore, you should prioritize skin care products with a light texture such as liquid or gel. These products have the characteristics of being quickly absorbed into the skin, not causing stickiness or stuffiness, helping the skin to breathe easily. Avoid using products with thick textures such as creams or oil-based products.

Remember, the harsher the weather, the more minimalism is needed in skin care products and processes. You may not need to choose products containing too many nutrients in the summer. Instead, just use a sufficient amount of cream and apply it evenly on the skin to help the nutrients absorb easily without clogging pores.

5. Take advantage of available ingredients to make skin care masks

You should apply a mask 2-3 times a week to provide nutrients to your skin, helping it recover and become more radiant. It is not necessary to use expensive masks, you can immediately take advantage of ingredients available at home, such as aloe vera, avocado, cucumber, honey, yogurt… These are all are benign ingredients, easy to use in many different mask formulas.

6. Drink lots of water

In the summer, the hot weather causes the body to sweat a lot, thus the skin also loses necessary moisture. Therefore, you need to proactively drink lots of water and maintain the habit of drinking about 2 liters of water per day. When cells receive enough water, the skin will become smoother.

On the contrary, when the body does not get enough water, the skin will appear dry, dull and wrinkles will appear more clearly.
